The Bend Motorsport Park - Drag Strip at the Bend

The Peregrine Corporation Infrastructure (PCI) constructed a state-of-the-art world class motorsport precinct, located near Tailem Bend in South Australia, known as The Bend Motorsport Park.

One of the last major developments within the motorsport park precinct to be completed is the Drag Strip which is expected to accommodate both International & National Group 1 events. This included the following key elements of work:

• Drag strip approximately 1,250m in total length by 18.5m wide, built to international standards
• Return roads and burnout pad
• Terraced concrete Amphitheatre and grassed mounds either side for spectator viewing
• Drag strip support paddocks and stagin gareas
• Drag strip building including a race controlroom
• Electronic timing systems, digital display screens and audio pa system to informspectators
• Lighting for night events

Over the duration of this project SpryCrete supplied:

• 1700 cubic meters of 40MPa pavement for the drag strip surface
• 500 cubic meters of 40MPa Concrete for slipform barriers
• 980 cubic meters of 32MPa Concrete for slipform barriers
• 1340 cubic metres of 20MPa to 40MPa concrete for misc works
